Eve of Sailing

Hi Guys,
The Start to Sailing Round the World !!

Here we are in our cabin, somewhere 6 pieces of luggage have been  stored. We sailed out of Southampton a little late at 6:30 pm on Sunday the 9th January 2011.
.We drove down to Worthing about a week ago to our good friend Barbara and deposited our suitcases. We came down by coach on Saturday, stayed overnight and took a taxi to Southampton.
All our suitcases had to be under 23 kgs. Somewhere in these bags are party dresses (22 formal nights), evening suites, swimwear for Tahiti, heavy jackets for the Falklands and silly hats and a full pirate’s outfit replete with hook, eye patch, a sword and a pirate's lady’s outfit (we cross the equator twice). There is my sextant with Brown's Almanac of celestial sightings and my GPS (someone has to check my sightings). And all things useful and useable for a 4 month cruise.

P & O contacted us to ask whether we wanted an outside cabin for an extra £1,000 but by the time we finished playing phone tag, the cabin had been snapped up, so we are still windowless and we retain a little more money for our purchases. It was offered on board, again, for 3 times the price!!!
